Multi Camera Edition in Blender Sequence Editor – Mockup…

Hello, this post is in english because the topic is focus in the blender developer community!

Recently i see how Edius work when has multiples cameras or shots of the same sequence. Edius has an multicam feature that let you to choose which camera do you want to get active seeing all the others cameras as well at the same time.

So, i made a mockup for blender to see if there’s a posibility to someone work on it.

In fact, i don’t know if it’s a good idea, but i feel that i like to have it on blender.

Well, nothing more, sorry by my poor english. :P

Here’s an explanation of how it works…

First, you have to select what strip (or channel) will be ready for multicam feature. I think that a button in the properties panel will be the best choice, whatever, an icon or tag must be visible in over the strip.

1

Then, have to change to MultiCamera Mode (it should be in the “combobox” with “Image Preview”, “Sequencer” , “Histogram”, etc). When you enter to MultiCam Mode the other strips get muted.

2

We are now ready to start editing the sequence! Press Play and by pressing the numbers of the channel in your Numpad you will be setting which strip will be the active! As simple of that!

3

Press Pause or Stop to finish your live editing.

I hope you understand and like the idea!!

Oh, wow! I didn’t know it was capable of that. This is way more convenient and efficient to use. Thanks for sharing. I gotta try it in a few minutes. ^_^

    Thanks.
